Our Track Record

Our track record over the last 15 years of developing long-term, successful renewable energy facilities that continue to operate today is a testament to our extensive operations experience. We have consistently demonstrated our ability to not only build, but also safely operate and maintain clean-fuel production facilities, successfully commercializing nascent processes in the renewable energy sector.

We are a customer focused business

We meet our customers' needs through ongoing communication, industry expertise, and reliable project management. Our end goal is to provide a facility that is not only profitable but also sustainable and adaptable to meet evolving demands in the future.

London Biogas Facility

The London Ontario facility is an anaerobic digestion plant that generates renewable natural gas.

StormFisher was the original developer of the facility in 2008. The plant was commissioned in 2012, and StormFisher took over operations in 2015, taking it from an underutilized facility, to the largest industrial biogas plant in North America.  In 2019, StormFisher spearheaded a significant expansion, including the first food waste to RNG system in Canada.   StormFisher ramped up the plant to full capacity, now generating 750,000 GJ of renewable natural gas while capable of processing up to 225,000 metric tonnes of organic waste per year.

In 2022, StormFisher sold the food waste operations division to Generate Capital, and continues to support Generate in its future organics developments, including the expansion of the London facility to meet increased demand for its services.

Food Waste Resource Recovery Centre

Drumbo Resource Recovery Centre

The Drumbo Ontario facility receives and processes municipal source separated organics and packaged food waste to supply anaerobic digesters.

StormFisher oversaw the development, permitting, design, construction management, commissioning and operations of the Drumbo Resource Recovery Center. StormFisher secured multiple long term food waste contracts from the Region of Halton, City of Toronto, City of Stratford and Maple Leaf Foods. This facility is a first of its kind in Canada, and can process over 90,000 metric tonnes per year of municipal green bin material into an engineered organic feedstock for use in biogas production. It is now a major piece of infrastructure that is supporting Ontario’s drive to decarbonize the province.

In 2022, StormFisher sold the food waste operations division to Generate Capital, and continues to support Generate in its future organics developments, including the expansion of the Drumbo facility to meet increased demand for its services.

Plastics to Wax Facility

GreenMantra Plastics to Wax Facility

GreenMantra Technologies is Canadian clean technology company that produces value-added synthetic waxes and specialty polymers from post-consumer and post-industrial recycled plastics. StormFisher provided the seed funding to commercialize the technology. These products are used in various applications including roofing and paving, plastics processing, and plastics composites.

StormFisher led the development, design, permitting and construction of GreenMantra’s commercial scale facility in Brantford Ontario. In addition, StormFisher developed the go to market strategy securing the first commercial scale users along with spearheading fundraising including Venture Capital and non-dilutive government grants.

StormFisher exited its investment in GreenMantra in 2015.

eMethane FEED Study

FEED study for Major Ethanol Producer

Leveraging its expertise in Biomethane, in 2018 StormFisher was commissioned by a major Ethanol producer and natural gas utility to conduct a feasibility study investigating the potential of electrolysis, methanation, and other technologies to produce low-carbon fuel products including hydrogen, eMethane and eMethanol.

StormFisher successfully completed a FEED and commercial feasibility study for a 25 MW eFuels facility in Aylmer, Ontario.
