Reducing Carbon Intensity in the Supply Chain of Chemical Producers
StormFisher Hydrogen produces e-Methanol, molecularly identical to traditional methanol, but produced from combining green hydrogen and carbon dioxide, resulting in a molecule with the same properties as traditional methanol, with a significantly lower carbon intensity.
Zero process change
e-Methanol, a derivative from electrolysis-produced, green hydrogen, is molecularly identical to fossil-based methanol that is traditionally used in chemical production and synthesis. It is a drop-in replacement for fossil-based methanol throughout the production process without any changes, new equipment, or infrastructure investments.
A scalable solution according to customer demand, e-Methanol is a preferred solution for chemical producers looking to decarbonize their process, making a lower-carbon version of their end products to meet the needs of their downstream supply chain.
Acetic acid, silicone, olefins, and formaldehyde
Molecularly identical to methanol, e-Methanol can be used to produce low-carbon versions of various industrial chemicals including acetic acid, methyl methacrylate (MMA), silicone, olefins, and formaldehyde.
At StormFisher Hydrogen clean fuel facilities we first produce green hydrogen through water electrolysis powered by renewable power. The green hydrogen is then combined with sourced carbon dioxide, producing a crude low-carbon e-Methanol product. This product is then distilled to make a high purity, IMPCA specification product. This is then a drop-in replacement for traditional methanol into chemical, maritime, aviation, and other sectors.
With more than 15 years of experience developing successful clean fuel production facilities in North America and a member of the Methanol Institute, StormFisher Hydrogen is your trusted partner for consistent and timely supplies of e-Methanol.
