e-Methane is nearly identical to fossil natural gas. e-Methane is a drop-in replacement for fossil natural gas but with a much lower carbon intensity. Existing infrastructure can be used without costly upgrades making e-methane a promising solution for decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors such as natural gas utilities in North America or through LNG to the European Union and APAC, heavy industries including refineries, ammonia production facilities, steel plants, glass, cement, maritime and shipping, and other industries with large process and thermal loads.
e-Fuels are a low-carbon alternative to traditional fossil fuels and help decarbonize at the scale necessary which biofuels alone cannot achieve. Produced using renewable energy, e-Fuels can help reduce an industry’s carbon intensity.
