Texas takes another step forward in laying the strong foundation to be a leader in the global hydrogen economy!
The Texas House Committee on Energy Resources heard testimony this week in a public hearing on a tabled bill, HB 5600, that would position Texas as a national leader in clean hydrogen development by establishing a state-managed Clean Hydrogen Development Fund to provide low-interest loans and grants for qualifying projects, applicable state tax incentives for hydrogen production, transport, and storage, and a pathway for higher education institutions to develop hydrogen-specific workforce training and certification programs.
StormFisher Hydrogen’s Dia Kuykendall, Manager, Government Affairs & Community Engagement, testified in support of bill HB 5600 in the Texas House.
“The bill also wisely acknowledges the economic opportunity in hydrogen-derived fuels, like methanol/methane/ammonia and aviation fuel, that customers domestically and internationally are looking for. By clearly defining these fuels and supporting them through financial tools and workforce programs, HB 5600 sends a powerful signal to investors and industry that Texas is open for business.”
StormFisher Hydrogen will continue to work with state representatives to further develop and refine this bill to further the interests of the Texan people to ensure the state continues to be an energy leader and a hub for innovation, manufacturing, and job creation.
