The London Ontario facility is an anaerobic digestion plant that generates renewable natural gas.
StormFisher was the original developer of the facility in 2008. The plant was commissioned in 2012, and StormFisher took over operations in 2015, taking it from an under-utilized facility to the largest industrial biogas plant in North America. In 2019, StormFisher spearheaded a significant expansion, including the first food waste to RNG system in Canada. StormFisher ramped up the plant to full capacity, now generating 225,000 GJ of renewable natural gas and 2.85 MW of renewable electricity, while processing over 135,000 metric tonnes of organic waste per year.
In 2022, StormFisher sold the food waste operations division to Generate Capital, and continues to support Generate in its future organics developments, including the expansion of the London facility to meet increased demand for its services.
